The portal and magazine Lisbon For People is launching an ambitious but necessary campaign of crowdfunding with the aim of raising 10 thousand euros. This amount ensures the continuity of the project until the end of the year, with the promise that other sources of financing will be found by then.

Created from scratch in 2021, the Lisboa Para Pessoas was born in a city in change with the desire to help in this change, offering a space for information and reflection about the city – an independent, collaborative and convergent space, without ulterior motives.

Node Lisbon For People, are counted Stories pertinent and critical information about the city, organized Guides useful for those who want to experience Lisbon in a different way, aggregated data and documentation that should be accessible in Library, and all of this is done in conjunction with a Community dynamic and motivated. In its first year of activity, Lisboa Para Pessoas published more than 500 stories and 50 guides, had half a million views and has a community of thousands of people on its various channels.

The campaign of crowdfunding from Lisbon For People – promoted on the PPL platform – aims to provide a sustainable basis from which to work to make the project bigger and more professional. “Lisbon has lost good projects in the past and cannot afford to lose another one. That is why this campaign is based on a very hard truth: I need money so that I can continue to do Lisboa Para Pessoas. And nothing made more sense than to start by asking for this support from those who follow the project and benefit from it on a daily basis.”, writes Mário Rui André, founder and head of Lisboa Para Pessoas, in the note accompanying the campaign.

“This crowdfunding is not the beginning, because over the course of a year we have already demonstrated that we are a solid asset in the media landscape of the city of Lisbon, but it is a unique opportunity to create stability for the project to take the leap. It assures my dedication to this platform, my commitment to making it grow and above all the idea that among ordinary people it is possible to create disruptive projects that contribute positively to the public space.” The campaign will be live until the end of April.
